Passing of U.A. Member Daniel Cozma

August 23, 2015

Daniel (Dimitru) Cozma
December 10, 1926 - August 23, 2015
Daniel was born and raised in Kayville, Saskatchewan and left the farm at 17, meanwhile dating Glenda for 7 years before marriage. He did various jobs in Moose Jaw and Regina then found his true passion of pipe/ steam fitting. He was a loyal member of local 179 for over 55 years, showing his awards and sporting his union jackets often. He very much enjoyed talking of the people he worked with and the jobs he worked on, the first Co-Op upgrader being one of his last "working" jobs before retiring at 62. Danny enjoyed gardening, tinkering in the garage and always doing odd jobs for his wife Glenda. They both loved watching the Blue Jays and he was excited to watch their run this year. He also spent a couple hours a week at the casino and loved telling people of all the winnings. Daniel enjoyed living the past three and a half years with his daughter Carrie and her husband Steve, making sure the garden was weeded. His reward was a trip every week to play the slots. Daniel was loved dearly by his family and friends who knew him best, but he was also sure to bring a smile to anyone he met. He will be missed by many, many people. Daniel was predeceased by his father and mother, Fritz and Ann (Morse); siblings Lena, John, Nick, and Pete; and his loving wife of 53 years, Glenda (Scrimbitt). Daniel is survived by his children Colleen (Lee) Pederson of Calgary, Ken (Sandy) of Regina, Carrie (Steve) Hordos of Emerald Park, and Kevin (Yukari) of Takamatsu, Japan; sisters Mary Kozack (Sam) of Arnprior, Ontario and Elaine Graf (Al) of Red Deer, Alberta; brother George Cozma of Regina; grandchildren Christina (Gianni), Daniel, Stephen (Cabri) McEachern, Shayna, Crystal (Joe), Connor, Cameron, Risa, Carter, and Carl; as well as great-grandchildren Cambrey and Wesley.
